Well Winter has finally reared its ugly head and I can’t be more glad that I pulled the trigger on a Canada Goose parka right before Christmas. After my last post, I went to Bloomingdale’s to try on the different Canada Goose jackets and ended up not liking any of the original cuts that I had leaned towards. The Kensington had these toggles for the buttons that I found superflous and the Trillium had visible gathering around the waist in the back that I found off-putting. While I had initially thought the Montebello would be the right cut for me because of its shorter length, because it’s cut short, it’s actually meant to be at hip length so didn’t fit right around my butt. Ultimately I went with the Victoria and couldn’t be happier.
The Canada Goose Victoria parka has a removable fur trim from the hood, but I think I’ll be leaving it, and a soft lining to the hood that some of the other models don’t have. The zipper unzips from the bottom so I can unzip it just enough to sit comfortably on the bus and has a kick pleat in the back. And don’t even get me started on how warm this coat is! It’s been so cozy that I really wish they made it in a bubble so that it could cover my face and my bottom half to my toes. I could go on and on about how amazing this coat is, but I won’t. I’ll just say that nothing, not even the JCrew stadium coat, has kept me toasty warm to the point of almost sweating when it’s in the 20s outside.
