Over the weekend we suddenly went from Summer to full on Fall. Leaves came flooding down, green started blossoming into burnt colors and the temps took a massive dip. Out come the tights, the boots and soon all of the layers. I can’t wait to layer this suede dress over a turtleneck soon.
You may have noticed this little lovely on Instagram. I picked it up while we were in Glasgow earlier this month and have been using it constantly!
The backstory is that whenever I get a new job, promotion/raise or bonus, I like to treat myself to a little something extra as a celebration. In the past this has been a pair of Louboutins, an LV bag and a pair of Chanel pumps, but this time I really wanted this Gucci, but kept holding off because I knew were going to Scotland and the exchange rate has been really strong for us.
So we get to Glasgow, the Gucci in House of Fraser has it in red, but no other color other than the multi ones and black. So I mull {I’ve really embraced the Spencer in this aspect} for the whole day whether I want to pull the trigger on red. I’ve bought ‘it’ bags in non-neutrals so that I would have something different in the past {see here and here} and have regretted not getting a more neutral bag that I could wear with anything. However, my wardrobe has been pared down a lot more towards neutrals and felt that the red would be really fun. The sales associate agreed that the “wee pop of color” would work well with most of the things in my closet and my toppers.
Throw in the fact that our exchange rate was $1.24/£1 and that the bag is $980 here without tax, with tax bringing it ~$1,048 and getting it for £650 {$806} was a steal. Plus the fact that I’d get VAT tax back and it was a total no brainer. And I have a story behind my new designer bag and not just another random purchase! Not to mention the fact that she’s just so pretty!!
