Two days in a row you lucky people!! {just kidding} These were taken when we were in Craigellachie. When we were there in May, we stayed in Aberlour at the Mashtun, but I wasn’t super thrilled with the “public house” feel of it and when we went to dinner at the Craigellachie {hotel named for the town} I really liked it there so we booked a room there when we decided we were going back to Speyside.
Our trip in May was right after the whisky festival and our trip in October was after the first Fall whiskey festival which meant that some of the distilleries had just released some distillery only bottles for the festival. Lucky for the Hubs, one of his favorite distilleries Glenfarclas had one that we picked up while we there.
Craigellachie is literally a one block town. The hotel is right at one end and then within a five minute walk, you’re pretty much at the other end. There was this cute little post office and a pub that we had dinner at called The Highlander. It’s a really central location to Aberlour and Dufftown which are two key points if you’re on the hunt for scotch. We also took a short walk around the ruin of Balvenie castle while we were in the area.
