Guys! It’s happened. I’ve finally succumbed to the germs that have been circulating around the office since October. I have the flu! Not just “I feel like I have the flu” or the “I’ve got the flu” but not been tested. I’ve been tested and I actually have it! Luckily the Hubs was with me and I made him get tested when I did because they said I was highly contagious. Unluckily I was at work all day Friday feeling like death warmed over and getting worse as the hours waxed on.
So now I’m home, doctors orders, for at least five days on meds. I’m absolutely the worst patient. I get bored easily, I don’t like being cooped up and I hate not being able to walk up and down my stairs easily. And I freaking missed out on Chinese New Year this year and all the calories!
Ok enough wallowing. Focusing on two of my favorite travel staples; this sweater and this backpack. On an impulse buy, because what else with me, I had credit to Everlane that I was just dying to spend. I took a chance and boy did it pay off. This sweater is so cozy and the perfect layering piece for damp, cold days which are par for the course when traveling to the UK or just living in NYC in the winter.
The backpack is a much longer story. The high-level details are that I was looking for a cute, functional backpack. I saw this one on Taylor Swift, went to HBs to check it out and feel in love with the convertible strap. Had to have it monogrammed. Baddabing, baddaboom…. it was mine and now goes on all trips with me. Do I wish it was slightly bigger? Sometimes, but it makes me pack my day essentials more efficiently.
