Labor Day Whites and Traveling with a Newborn

Who else can’t believe the “end of summer” is actually here? In my defense, Sloane was born smack dab in the middle which made the first half of summer a little challenging being nine months pregnant and the rest of it a blur with a newborn.

Before I knew it, Labor Day was upon us and we didn’t have any solid plans. We had bandied about the idea of going to the Cape sometime before I go back to work so we buckled down and decided to try the five hour drive with Sloane during a holiday weekend.

Was I crazy to suggest this? Probably.

Were we nervous she’d go ballistic during a car ride 2x longer than any she’d be in before? 100%

Were we going to do it anyway? Yup!

And guess what? She slept the whole way up except for a short 10 minute stint at the beginning, but that’s her way. And we didn’t hit any traffic. The Gods were looking favorable upon us and we’re going to try and replicate this by driving home after she has her last feeding and starts her largest chunk of sleep tonight. Wish us luck!

While we’ve been on the Cape though, Sloane’s had her first trips to the beach, had an amazing stretch of 6.5hrs of sleep Saturday night, and taken a trip to Ptown. Pretty eventful for an eight-week old right?

Onto whites after Labor Day. Not such a taboo fashion faux pas anymore is it? Winter whites are definitely on my rotation as well as white sneakers all around. This dress is linen though so won’t be worn past 70-degree weather. It is still a great add with it’s pockets and nursing-friendly neckline.

However, I had a miserable time ordering from Terraqueen so despite the incredible prices and cute silhouettes, I would never recommend shopping with them. I ordered five dresses and two took 3+ weeks to show up, one showed up after 6 weeks and two after a month. I followed up five times asking for updates and was just told to be patient. Never again. I’d rather buy from Amazon Fashion and get my items through Prime than deal with the hassle of Terraqueen ever again. Buyer’s definitely beware! But, since I have the dresses, might as well wear them right?
